We live in a world in which personal privacy is an increasingly scarce privilege. Evidence Eliminator bills itself as being capable of removing traces of your internet history to the point that it is beyond recovery. Thus, the program is designed to remove both your online and offline activity which are recorded in the Windows operating system itself. The program seems to do a respectable job of cleaning up the specific areas and applications it’s designed to target. This includes the single-click removal of sensitive data in many areas, including Windows SWAP files, typed URLs, the internet downloaded folder memory, the recycle bin and others. Although the program has safety checks to help you avoid deleting important files, there is a problem with the program not telling you what it’s deleting before it deletes it. For the most part, EvidenceEliminator isn’t difficult to use, but there are things that could be done to make it easier, including a much more user-friendly dialogue box. |
